Lay leaders of the community share in the privilege of responsibilities with the Priest to serve the administrative needs of our Parish. Members must be in good standing with the Church for at least one year and are elected for a two-year term. In their capacity as Parish Council members, they also share in the special task of Church management, the planning of future projects of the parish, and bringing into action and cooperation as many members of the parish as possible.
Message from the Parish Council President

Christos Anesti!

May you all enjoy this time of the Resurrection and what it means for all of us.

We all share in the sadness of the passing of Archbishop Iakovos. It brings to mind a personal memory, if I may share it with you. In the late 50's when my Dad was president, my family had the privilege of hosting the Archbishop at our home for Sunday dinner after liturgy. I was only about 6 years old but can still feel the warmth and gentleness that radiated from this man. I will cherish this always. As I read his obituary, I could not help but be in awe of all that he had done for our religion and for promoting our Greek Orthodox faith throughout the world. He extended himself to people everywhere. What an example to set for all of us; to reach out to each other and to promote our faith and live our lives accordingly. May his memory and his legacy be eternal. The Parish Council continues to work hard for the good of our parish and for all of you. We are in the final stages of putting a credit card system in place. This will offer one more option for you to use to make payments for program costs and stewardship offerings. We will keep you informed. Our "main event", the Grecian Festival, is moving forward under the capable direction of Loretta Anastos. She and the many volunteers are already gearing up for another smashing success! Don’t miss out on YOUR opportunity to join in the fun and satisfaction of being part of this event! Let’s make it a parish project, as always! I especially appeal to our youth. Now is the time to LEARN from the "pros" who have made this festival a success year after year. If you don’t start "shadowing" them now, how will you know to continue these wonderful traditions in the future? THEY WANT YOUR HELP AND DESERVE YOUR HELP!

Many of you continue to offer your comments and suggestions to me. I love the dialogue and encourage you to continue. Please be assured that each and every thing you say is important and that your conversations are taken to heart. Thank you, that’s the only way we continue to do what’s best for all of us. May God Bless each and every one of you,

Francine Kollias
