The Taxiarchae/Archangels Greek Folk Dance Group is under the instruction of Nicole Gianoukos and George Papadogiannis. Our mission is to instill the culture and tradition of Hellenism and the appreciation of this great heritage in the Greek Orthodox youth of the Metropolis of Boston through fellowship, folk dances, and songs. The program of instruction has been designed by Mrs. Sokolove to emphasize the authentic aspects of Greek folk dance, including music recorded with regional instruments and dances from these regions. There is an annual registration fee of $100 per student. This covers the curriculum, instruction, and other costs. The group meets weekly on Wednesdays and offers three levels of instruction. Level 1, for beginners, meets at 6:30pm. Level 2, for intermediate dancers, meets at 7:30pm. Level 3, for advanced dancers, meets at 8:30pm. |
