Altar Boys

Altar Boys (Acolytes) have the responsibility to assist clergy in celebrating services. The Holy Altar is the most sacred part of the Church, and serving as an Altar Boy is a great honor and privilege.

In addition to serving in the Holy Altar, Altar Boys also help to clean the church, sacred vessels and instruments used in the altar, have retreats where they learn about services and serving in the Holy Altar. Altar Boys, as with all other youth, are invited to assist with chanting Orthros.

Worried you might be too old, or too young to serve as an Altar Boy? Serving in the Holy Altar is a privilege and a matter of maturity. If you would like to serve as an Altar Boy please contact Fr. Athanasios or Fr. Nick to learn more.
