REv. fr. Athanasios nenes
Parish Priest
Rev. Fr. Athanasios Nenes was born in Bridgeport, Connecticut and grew up in Thessaloniki, Greece. Since May of 2006, he has served the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of America within the Metropolis of Boston, as the Parish Priest at Assumption of the Virgin Mary parish, in Manchester, NH.
Prior to his assignment to Assumption of the Virgin Mary, Fr. Athanasios served for 12 years as a priest in the Metropolis of Neapolis and Stravoupolis in Thessaloniki, Greece. He is married with two children, Maria and Vasilis.
He attended classes at the Theological School of Belgrade "Saint Savas," and at the department of Social and Pastoral Theology at the Aristotelion University of Thessaloniki. He also holds a Masters of Divinity from Holy Cross Greek Orthodox School of Theology (Class of 2009).
He has been involved in music and choirs his entire life, and prior to his ordination, Fr. Athanasios studied double bass and music at the national Conservatoire of Thessaloniki.
